Why Is My Hot Tub Foaming?
Foam is usually caused by contaminants in the water. These can include:
• Body lotions, oils, hair products, and cosmetics
• Laundry detergent residue on swimsuits and towels
• Low sanitizer levels or imbalanced water chemistry
• Old or overused water that needs refreshing
Foam is not harmful, but it’s a sign your water needs attention.
How to Fix It
1. Test Your Water Chemistry
• Check sanitizer (chlorine/bromine), pH, and alkalinity levels.
• Adjust as needed using Jacuzzi-approved chemicals.
2. Rinse Before You Soak
• Shower before entering to reduce lotions and oils.
• Avoid wearing freshly laundered swimsuits without rinsing.
3. Clean or Replace Filters
• Dirty filters can recirculate contaminants.
• Rinse weekly and replace every 12–18 months.
4. Use a Foam Reducer
• Add a small amount of anti-foam product.
• This offers quick relief but is not a long-term fix.
5. Drain & Refill (if needed)
• If foam persists, it may be time to refresh your water.
• We recommend draining every 3–4 months.
Preventing Future Foam
• Rinse swimsuits thoroughly before use.
• Limit use of oils, lotions, and hair products before soaking.
• Maintain regular water care using your Jacuzzi maintenance kit.
• Schedule routine service with our team to keep your spa in peak condition.
